Goodnotes Essential: Introducing New Canvases for Your Ideas
Goodnotes Essential is our new core plan, which includes all the digital note-taking tools you know and love on Goodnotes 6, and introduces two new document types.
Ideas can take any form, and we believe that capturing and expressing them should too—inked or typed, sketched or spoken, across all your devices.
So now, in addition to Notebooks in Goodnotes, we’re introducing Whiteboards and Text Documents.
Whiteboards: Infinite space for big ideas. Whiteboards extend the freedom of Notebooks into an infinite canvas. They’re a natural home for sprawling brainstorms and creative explorations, yet also perfect for structured diagrams and mindmaps, enabled by the new Shapes tool.
Text Documents: Frictionless typing, flexible documents. Text Documents make typing as fluid as inking in Goodnotes—but there's so much more: Make lists, generate images, add tables, or even drop in a video when words fail. Every element can be easily reformatted, moved, rearranged.
Three flexible ways to work, in one unified place. Together, Whiteboards, Text Documents, and Notebooks make Goodnotes the perfect platform for any form of note or idea.

To make working across all your notebooks, whiteboards, and text documents even easier, we’ve redesigned key parts of the UI:

Goodnotes Pro: Collaboration Features that Enhance Teamwork
Goodnotes Pro is an optional upgrade for those who need more advanced collaboration. It includes everything in Essential, plus powerful tools designed for teamwork.
Whether you're brainstorming with colleagues or working through a project with classmates, the new Goodnotes makes collaboration seamless. See each other's contributions appear in real-time across all Notebooks, Whiteboards, and Text Documents. Leave comments, see where teammates are working, and watch ideas develop together naturally.
Additionally, you’ll get access to Goodnotes AI for Meetings which acts as a personal meeting assistant to record, transcribe, and generate meeting notes, as well as integrations with Google Calendar, Google Drive, and Onedrive, to support your existing workflows.
