Yes! If you decide to cancel your Goodnotes 6 Subscription, don't worry, you'll still have access to your notebooks and can view them any time! You'll be automatically switched to the Free Tier version, where you can edit 3 notebooks.

Goodnotes 6 integrates the newest technology to push the boundaries of what you’ve always imagined note-taking to be. In addition to AI-powered note-taking features, it includes highly requested features like the ability to change the colors of folders and (coming soon) the ability to sync with Windows and Android. Think of Goodnotes 6 as a new generation of Goodnotes.

GoodNotes 5 will still be available to use as usual if you purchased it, but in the future, the newest updates and features will be pushed to Goodnotes 6.

Yes! If you purchased GoodNotes 5, your notes are safe and you’ll be able to use GoodNotes 5, However,  we will stop pushing updates to this verison after a period of time.

Notebooks created in Goodnotes 6 can be edited in GoodNotes 5. However, math objects created in Goodnotes 6 are not editable in GoodNotes 5, as this specific new feature is not supported in the older version. Folders having custom icons and colors still exist in GoodNotes 5, but the icons and colors are removed.

You don’t have to pay again for GoodNotes 5 if you’ve already purchased it. You’ll continue to have full access to everything and your notes are all safe.

If you want to upgrade to Goodnotes 6, you can upgrade and subscribe directly in app.

Your notes are safe! You can still access any of your notes and use GoodNotes 5 as usual. If you want to upgrade to Goodnotes 6, your notes will automatically be transferred to the Goodnotes 6 interface. In short, your notes will always be safe in Goodnotes.

The main difference is that the subscription will unlock Goodnotes on all platforms. Today, that means iPadOS, iOS, macOS, Android, Windows, and Web with the relevant cloud sync.

One-time payment gives you access to iPadOS, iOS, and macOS with iCloud sync.

Goodnotes 6 One-Time Purchase users will have feature parity with Goodnotes 6 Subscription users. The only 2 differences between Goodnotes 6 One-Time Purchase and Subscription are:

• Goodnotes 6 Subscription users can use Goodnotes across platforms while Goodnotes 6 One-Time Purchase users can only use Goodnotes on Apple devices.
• Goodnotes may offer cloud services other than iCloud for Goodnotes 6 Subscription users in the future, while Goodnotes 6 One-Time Purchase users will only have local storage or iCloud as their cloud storage.
