We’re excited to share that Goodnotes Education (previously known as Goodnotes Classroom) is free for K-12 schools!
This is an important step for us, and one that comes straight from the heart of why Goodnotes exists.
Building something just for schools
Goodnotes was founded by our CEO, Steven Chan, to support his studies, meaning education has always been at our core. Over the years, we noticed that many of our most passionate users were teachers and students - so in 2023 we began working more closely with them to understand the realities (and challenges) of teaching. This led to the launch of Goodnotes Classroom, an app that added school-specific features on top of the familiar Goodnotes experience. Whilst schools have always had free access to Goodnotes, our education features were offered as a paid, separate product.
Making Goodnotes Education free
Now all the pedagogy-backed features from Goodnotes Classroom are part of the main Goodnotes app, and are free for schools - we refer to this feature set as Goodnotes Education.
We want teachers to feel supported by tools that reflect real classroom needs, and students to benefit from teachers who can focus on supporting them. By removing the cost barrier, we’re able to accelerate our impact, and reinforce our commitment to making our solution as accessible as possible.
