Android and Windows users rejoice! You can now use Goodnotes too.
Today, we're thrilled to share that Goodnotes for Android, Windows, and Web is officially out of beta. The Android app can be downloaded from the Galaxy Store and the Play Store while the Windows version is available from the Microsoft Store.
Sync between Android and Windows to other platforms is coming soon!
Here’s what you can do on Goodnotes for Android and Windows
Combine handwriting and typing to create the notes you need
Writing an equation? Need to draw a diagram or mind map? Sometimes you need to be able to handwrite and type in the same document – and you can do exactly that in Goodnotes.
Create beautiful multimedia notes
Easily add stickers with the Elements tool or import images to decorate or add more context to your notes.
Want to import a paper file into Goodnotes? Simply take a photo to insert the file into an existing notebook, or to create a new one.
Import and annotate PDFs
Want to markup a PDF? Import PDFs, digital planners, or lecture slides straight into Goodnotes.
Draw perfect shapes with shape recognition
Draw a wobbly circle and watch it snap into a perfect circle. Great for mind maps, diagrams, and flow charts.
Share and collaborate with other users
Want to collaborate on a notebook? Share your notes with other Goodnotes users. Easily leave comments and work on the same notes.
If you’re presenting you can even use the laser pointer to direct the eyes.
Organize and customize your library to work for you
Create folders to organize your notebooks so you can always find the notes you need.
You can also choose to scroll through the pages of your notebooks vertically or horizontally
Notebooks synced between Android, Windows, and Web
Your library on Windows and Android are saved to your Goodnotes Account (what you use to sign in!), meaning all your data is in one place. That means you can access the same notebooks on Windows, Android, or Web.
How to access notebooks from GoodNotes 5 on Android or Windows
While there isn’t a direct sync (yet), you can share your notebooks from Goodotes and work on them like a shared document on Android or Windows!
First generate a share link from GoodNotes 5, then open the link from your Android or Windows device that has the app installed.
Keep in mind that currently you won’t be able to sync your entire library between Goodnotes on iOS and Mac to Android or Windows, but you can already work on the same documents.
Goodnotes for Android and Windows are an online-first experience
Both the Goodnotes for Android and Goodnotes for Windows apps are online-first – meaning you’ll need an internet connection for the best experience, and yes you can view from your browser as well.
That being said, we’re working on making the offline experience as smooth as the online one too.
