1. Purpose
The Goodnotes Community is designed to:
Facilitate structured beta testing of Goodnotes products and features.
Collect actionable feedback and insights from users to improve Goodnotes offerings.
Provide a collaborative environment for learning, sharing, and discussion related to Goodnotes.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive space for all participants.
The Community is not intended to serve as a primary technical support channel. For technical issues or urgent support, please use the official in-app feedback system or contact Goodnotes support directly.
2. Community Participation
As a valued member of the Community, you are encouraged to:
Introduce yourself: Help build a welcoming atmosphere by sharing a brief introduction when you join.
Engage constructively: Participate in discussions, feedback sessions, polls, and surveys initiated by Goodnotes or other users.
Support others: Offer respectful and helpful responses to fellow participants’ questions and comments.
Follow instructions: Adhere to prompts, activities, or requests from the Goodnotes team, especially regarding beta testing or research initiatives.
Be authentic: Represent your identity, role, and relationship with Goodnotes truthfully and accurately at all times.
3. Code of Conduct
To maintain a safe and respectful environment, all Participants must adhere to the following standards:
Respectful communication: Treat all members with respect and courtesy, regardless of background, experience, or opinion.
No harassment or abuse: Do not engage in bullying, harassment, intimidation, discrimination, hate speech, or any form of personal attack.
No inappropriate content: Avoid posting sexually explicit, violent, defamatory, illegal, or otherwise offensive material.
No spamming: Refrain from sharing unsolicited promotions, advertisements, irrelevant links, or repetitive messages.
No misinformation: Do not share false, misleading, or unverified information about Goodnotes or any other topic.
Stay on topic: Keep discussions relevant to Goodnotes products, features, and the Community’s stated purpose.
No impersonation: Do not misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or authority within the Community.
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the Community at Goodnotes’ discretion.
4. Platform Use and Etiquette
All Participants must comply with the rules and standards of the Platform hosting the Community, in addition to these Guidelines. To ensure a positive experience for everyone:
Relevance: Keep your contributions focused on topics related to Goodnotes and the Community’s objectives.
Organization: Use available Platform features (e.g., threads, replies, tags) to keep discussions organized and accessible.
Privacy: Do not share personal information, whether your own or others’, in public areas of the Community.
No disruption: Avoid behaviors that disrupt the flow of conversation or the functioning of the Community, such as flooding channels with repeated messages.
Platform policies: Familiarize yourself with and adhere to the Platform’s terms of service, privacy policy, and community standards.
5. Confidentiality
Unless expressly stated otherwise by Goodnotes, all information, discussions, documents, media, previews, or other content shared within the Community are considered confidential and proprietary to Goodnotes. This includes, but is not limited to:
Beta features and unreleased product information
Screenshots, recordings, or descriptions of new designs or functionality
Internal communications or documentation
Any other non-public materials shared by Goodnotes or its representatives
Obligations:
Do not share, publish, record, screenshot, forward, or distribute any Community content outside the Community, including on social media, websites, or private messaging platforms, without explicit written permission from Goodnotes.
This confidentiality obligation remains in effect even after you leave the Community or your participation is terminated.
Breaches of confidentiality may result in immediate removal from the Community and potential legal action.
6. Influencer and Content Creation Guidelines
Transparency and Disclosure
- Clearly disclose that your content is based on a beta or pre-release version of Goodnotes, not the final public release.
- Use any disclaimers or labels required by Goodnotes to ensure transparency for your audience.
Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure
- Do not reveal, discuss, or publish information about features, designs, or updates that have not been officially released or authorized for public sharing by Goodnotes.
- Respect all embargoes, confidentiality agreements, and communication from Goodnotes regarding what can and cannot be shared.
Brand Consistency
- Ensure all content, visuals, and messaging align with the Goodnotes brand tone, style, and identity as outlined in the Goodnotes Brand Guidelines.
- Use Goodnotes trademarks, logos, and other proprietary assets only as permitted and in accordance with the Brand Guidelines.
- Do not alter or misuse Goodnotes branding in a way that could cause confusion or harm to the brand.
Defamatory Content
- You must not create, publish, or distribute any content that is false, misleading, defamatory, or disparaging about Goodnotes, its products, its employees, partners, or other community members.
- Defamatory content includes, but is not limited to, statements or representations that could unjustly harm the reputation, integrity, or goodwill of Goodnotes or any associated party.
- Goodnotes reserves the right to request immediate removal or correction of any content deemed defamatory or otherwise damaging, and may take further action, including removal from the Community, revocation of influencer privileges, or legal proceedings if necessary.
Content Approval
- Submit any content that references unreleased features, confidential information, or uses Goodnotes branding for prior written approval by Goodnotes before publication.
- Goodnotes reserves the right to request edits, modifications, or removal of any content that does not comply with these requirements.
Legal and Regulatory Compliance
- Comply with all applicable laws, advertising standards, and disclosure requirements in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to regulations on sponsored content and influencer marketing.
Non-compliance with these requirements may result in removal from the Community and/or legal action.
7. Ownership of Feedback
By submitting feedback, comments, ideas, suggestions, or usage insights (“Feedback”) within the Community, you grant Goodnotes a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, adapt, reproduce, modify, commercialize, and incorporate such Feedback into its products and services. You waive any claim to ownership, compensation, or further communication related to that Feedback. Goodnotes is not obligated to act on any suggestion, even if submitted.
8. Data Handling & Privacy
To maintain a safe and respectful environment, all Participants must adhere to the following standards:
Your data on the Platform is also subject to the Platform’s privacy practices and policies.
Participants are encouraged to review and understand both Goodnotes’ and the Platform’s privacy policies before participating.
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the Community at Goodnotes’ discretion.
9. Moderation and Enforcement
The Community is actively moderated by Goodnotes staff or appointed representatives to ensure compliance with these Guidelines and to maintain a safe, respectful environment. Moderators may, at their discretion:
Remove content or Participants that violate these Guidelines or the Platform’s policies.
Issue warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans for violations.
Edit or delete posts that are off-topic, disruptive, or otherwise inappropriate.
Make final decisions regarding enforcement and interpretation of these Guidelines.
Reporting: If you observe misconduct or inappropriate behavior, please report it to a moderator or through the Platform’s reporting tools.
10. Termination and Exit
You may leave the Community at any time by following the Platform’s procedures for exiting or unsubscribing.
Goodnotes reserves the right to remove any Participant at its sole discretion, with or without notice.
All confidentiality and feedback ownership obligations survive your departure from the Community.
11. Amendments
Goodnotes may update or revise these Guidelines at any time. Substantive changes will be communicated within the Community. Continued participation after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Guidelines.
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the Community at Goodnotes’ discretion.
