Goodnotes was created from our founder's frustration of taking readable and reusable handwritten notes on his first iPad. We have since grown to millions of happy users. We are just getting started. Come join us!

Our Story

When the iPad was released in April of 2010, I was a second-year Maths student in Australia. I received the iPad on the first day it was released, and I was immediately impressed by the possibilities of a large touchscreen.

Programming has been my hobby since I was ten, but being able to "touch" the app was an amazing new experience...

What is the official language of Goodnotes?

Everything happens in English.

How big is the Goodnotes team?

As of Q1 2023, we’re 150 people and still growing!

How is the company structured?

Goodnotes is structured into product and business teams. We have Managers and Leads to ensure the team is happy and projects are running smoothly.

How is Goodnotes funded?

We are a bootstrapped company and have been profitable since the day Goodnotes was launched on the AppStore in 2011. We have ownership over our quality, goals and timelines and we are not considering investors currently.

How long does the interview process take?

From your first conversation with the Talent Team to your final stage interview takes around 4 weeks on average, though this can vary slightly depending on the time of year. However your talent representative is always on hand to answer your questions and keep you informed. We are of course flexible, if you need us to speed things up then we will do our very best to accommodate.

Where are you based and where can I work?

We have offices in London and Hong Kong. We support 100% remote working from many countries across Europe and Asia – just let us know your preference when you apply. All we ask is that you have at least three hours overlap with Hong Kong and London business hours each day. All meetings and company updates happen during this time and anything outside of this is yours to own.

Does Goodnotes sponsor visas?

Yes, we sponsor visas for you and your family member (lawful spouse or child) in both the UK and Hong Kong, depending on local employment laws.

Will Goodnotes assist me in relocating?

Sure thing! If we are able to sponsor your visa and you wish to join us in our London or Hong Kong office then we will cover one set of economy one-way direct flight tickets for you and your family in addition to 1 month of accommodation.

How is performance measured?

Performance reviews take place twice a year in June and December. We believe that we grow through others’ questions and feedback. Each team also hosts feedback sessions at the end of every 2-month cycle to help identify our blindspots, learn and grow fast.
