Over the past year, we've had many conversations with business and enterprise customers about what they need to scale Goodnotes across their organizations. We've listened, and today, we're excited to announce a major upgrade to Goodnotes for Business, including a brand-new Admin Console, better tools for IT admins and team leads, and a new pricing model that reflects the expanded value.
At this time, we are only rolling this out to Goodnotes for Business customers, while we are continuing to work on making the Admin Console available to our Enterprise plan customers, as well. However, if you are an Enterprise customer interested in gaining early access, please contact our Sales team or your Goodnotes Account Manager.
Upcoming changes to business pricing and subscription tiers
Starting in June 2025, we'll gradually transition both existing and new Goodnotes for Business customers from our device-based pricing model to an account-based model at US$10/user/month (billed annually). This means that each Business user can now use Goodnotes on multiple devices with the same account.
With this update, your subscription will now include:
- Account-based access, no longer tied to individual devices and Mobile Device Management (MDM) system requirements
- SAML SSO support
- Domain verification and control to secure your organization's usage
- Consolidated billing management
- Admin tools
- Data backup control options - normally an Enterprise tier feature, but now also available for our Business tier customers adopting the Admin console early on
To allow our Business customers to explore the impact of Goodnotes on their team’s workflows and productivity before committing to a subscription plan, we offer a complimentary 30-day free trial.
We know price changes can be disruptive, so we want to share more about what’s changing, and why we believe this is a meaningful step forward for our business customers.
Unlocking more value with Admin Console
The Admin Console is a web-based control center designed for IT administrators or those who oversee their organization’s app usage. It makes deploying, managing, and securing Goodnotes at scale faster and easier than ever:
- No more MDM required, no more license keys: We’re moving away from device-based setup. The new model allows you to onboard users with just an email and domain, meaning deployment takes just a few minutes.
- Cross-platform sync: Account-based access enables users to seamlessly sync their documents across iOS, macOS, Windows, Android, and the web.
- Self-serve organizational controls: IT teams can now manage user accounts, assign seats, and control user permissions in one place.
- Secure by default: Organizations maintain complete control over user access through SAML SSO and domain control, creating a secure environment from day one.
- Flexible billing management: Gain control over subscription details, billing management, and payment methods, including card payments or invoicing, all in one centralized dashboard.
With your organization’s security needs in mind, we’ve invested significantly in strengthening our security framework and hardening systems. As a reflection of this, Goodnotes is now ISO 27001 certified, ensuring your organization’s data is handled with the highest level of information security compliance. We are currently also actively working on obtaining our SOC 2 Type 2 compliance certification.
